THE THEME PARK

Zoomarine is a theme park located in Portugal, in the Algarve region, offering visitors a unique experience that combines fun and education.

More than just a space for entertainment, Zoomarine strives to be a centre for environmental awareness and education. Through interactive presentations, informative exhibitions and educational activities with the many species that are part of its zoological family, the park inspires visitors to reflect on the importance of preserving wildlife and protecting ecosystems, encouraging more responsible attitudes towards the environment.

Founded in 1991, Zoomarine has welcomed over 15 million visitors since opening its doors to the public. What began as a 7-hectare space with the ambition of becoming a landmark in Portuguese tourism has now grown to more than 28 hectares, currently welcoming around 620,000 visitors each year.

Today, Zoomarine is recognised internationally for its diverse attractions, its high standards of animal welfare, and its contribution to science and species conservation, with a special focus on marine life.

Mundo Aquático – Parques Oceanográfico de Entretenimento Educativo S.A. was founded in 1989 in the form of a limited liability company.

Zoomarine-Algarve theme park was opened on August 3, 1991 and is located in Guia, in Albufeira, in the heart of Portugal’s main tourist region.

The company specialises in creating immersive theme parks that showcase the wonders of marine life. These parks not only provide entertainment and leisure but also place a strong emphasis on environmental education, offering visitors a unique and enriching experience.

In March 1997 it was transformed into a public limited company, and in September of 2023 it had a capital of 6,500,000 euros (six million, five hundred thousand euros).
