A partilha de conhecimento científico entre Zoológicos e Aquários é essencial para o desenvolvimento e contínua melhoria de programas de conservação.
Esta partilha permite:
- Recolha de dados e pesquisa científica do comportamento animal ou biologia reprodutiva. Estes dados permitem um conhecimento aprofundado das espécies e podem ser aplicados em projetos de conservação de populações selvagens.
- Programas de reprodução para reintrodução no selvagem.
- Sensibilização e educação ambiental aos visitantes e comunidade local.
