Decarbonisation
We have been implementing solutions that increase the energy efficiency of our operations and reduce our environmental footprint.
Electricity from a renewable source
At Zoomarine, we have three solar installations for electricity generation, with more than 2,550 solar panels. With an annual production capacity of up to 2,600 MWh, we can generate up to half of our energy needs, which is roughly equivalent to taking 44 vehicles off the road each year.
This investment allows us to make the most of solar energy, reducing our reliance on electricity from the grid and contributing to the decarbonisation of our operations.
Thermal comfort powered by clean energy
In addition to generating electricity, we use solar thermal panels to heat water in key areas of the Park:
• Aquatic habitats, with temperature control adapted to animal welfare, particularly during colder periods.
• Changing rooms and shower areas
• Kitchens
These solutions ensure the comfort and functionality of the Park with a lower environmental impact, promoting more sustainable and responsible energy management.
Having a shower at Zoomarine can be better for the environment than having one at home!
An increasingly electric fleet
We are progressively electrifying our fleet, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while supporting quieter and more efficient operations.
This is an ongoing investment that reflects our commitment to cleaner mobility and our efforts to help mitigate climate change.
