Conservation Projects supported by Zoomarine
Aware of the importance of the work carried out by various organisations and research institutions in implementing concrete and local measures for the protection of species and habitats, Zoomarine establishes partnerships and provides support to some of these entities, ensuring the continuity and effectiveness of these conservation projects.
This support is provided for projects directly promoted by Zoomarine, such as the work carried out by Porto d’Abrigo, the park’s Rehabilitation Centre for Marine Animals, as well as collaborative projects with other zoological institutions and/or organisations that take place ex-situ (involving the protection of species outside their natural habitat) or in situ (involving the protection of species in their wild habitat, including the approaches to protect the ecosystem in the species’ natural geographical distribution área).
