Currently, the rate of species extinction makes it necessary to take action in situ. Zoomarine therefore contributes financially to some international species conservation projects, such as the World Parrot Trust (WPT).
The collaboration between Zoomarine and the World Parrot Trust began in 2013. This psittaciform (macaws, parrots and cockatoos) conservation project brings together experts from different fields to carry out measures such as field research, habitat protection, rescue support, and the rehabilitation and reintroduction of animals captured in the wild.
The WPT has already helped more than 80 species in 45 countries. These are just a few of them:
Zoomarine's role with World Parrot Trust
Zoomarine seeks to raise awareness among its visitors about the impact of illegal trade in species and other threats facing these populations. The sale of certain items in our shops also helps to raise funds which are donated to World Parrot Trust projects.
